Funeral services for Merttie Bartley were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2002 in the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Terry Bartley and Willis Russell officiating. Burial was in the Jordan Hill Cemetery near Winnfield, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home, Winnfield.
Mrs. Bartley, age 91 of Winnfield, LA died Wednesday, August 28, 2002 in the Winn Parish Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Big Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors are one son, Walter T. Bartley of Atlanta, LA; two daughters, Mary Alice Mercer of Winnfield, LA and Melba Bartley of Alexandria, LA; one sister, Berttie [sic Bertie] Green of Winnfield, LA; eight grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were: Vince Bartley, Tom Gongre, Justin Gongre, Joseph Mercer, Jason Mercer and Edward Bartley.
