Burial was in Guin Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.
Mr. Barber, resident of Winn Parish for many years, died at a local hospital Friday, July 1, after an illness of several months. A member of the Lewis Chapel Methodist Church, Mr. Barber had made his home 15 miles east of Winnfield for many years. His wife preceded him in death about one year ago.
Surviving are two sons, J. T. and Elvin Barber of Winnfield, Route 2; and four daughters, Mrs. Mertis Bartley and Mrs. Bertie Green of Winnfield; Mrs. Berntie [sic Bernettie] Duke of Kelly, La., and Mrs. Lizzie Catherine O'Neal of Mobile, Ala.
