FUNERAL RITES HELD YESTERDAY FOR MISS RACHEL EASTERWOOD
FT. TOWSON GIRL DIED SATURDAY AT ARDMORE
Funeral services for Rachel Easterwood, 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Easterwood Ft. Towson, were held at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Baptist Church, Ft. Towson, with the Rev. Martin Landers officiating.
Miss Easterwood died Saturday afternoon, July 19, in an Ardmore hospital, following a short illness.
Miss Easterwood was well known in Ft. Towson and vicinity and leaves a host of friends to mourn her untimely death.
She is survived by her parents, four sisters, Mrs. Rosa Lang, Mrs. Ella May Cawley, Altha and Helen Easterwood, all of Ft. Towson; three brothers, Billy and James E., Ft. Towson and Elmer, Huttig, Arkansas.
Pall bearers were: Joe Bob Davis, Charley Lawrence, Thomas Groves, Emmett Earl Henderson, Gene Adams and Eugene May.
Interment was made in the Ft. Towson cemetery under the direction of the Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo.
The News extends sympathy to the family of the deceased.
