BILLY EASTERWOOD
January 29, 1931 ~ August 30, 2021
Billy Easterwood was born on January 29, 1931, in Fort Towson, Oklahoma to James Albert and Nora (Dunn) Easterwood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James E. Easterwood, Elmer Easterwood; sisters, Rachel Easterwood, Ella Mae Cawley, Rosie Lang, Alphia Adams, and Helen Latham.
Bill married Martha Virginia Maegar on August 11, 1953, in Hugo, Oklahoma and they made their home in Fort Towson.
He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and served in Germany.
Bill was a longtime rancher in the Fort Towson area. Bill and Virginia were awarded the ASCS Farm Family of the Year in 1963. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years but working his cattle was his job and he enjoyed it.
Bill served on numerous boards throughout the county, including Red River Coop, Choctaw Electric, ASCS, Choctaw Memorial Hospital, Fort Towson School Board, and was an honorary member of the Fort Towson FFA Chapter.
He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Fort Towson. Bill loved his family but above all he loved the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia; sons, Billy Joe Easterwood of Fort Towson, OK, Mike Easterwood and wife Peggy of Fort Towson, OK; grandchildren, Blake Easterwood and wife Kobie of Sherman, TX, Chad Easterwood of Fort Towson, OK; great grandchildren, Kimber, Katelyn, and Khloe along with a host of other family friends and loved ones.
