Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Monday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home.
Mrs. Latham was born June 24, 1926, in Fort Towson, Okla., to the late James A. and Nora Easterwood. She spent her life serving others, generously giving to God and her family, friends and community.
Although not a native, Mrs. Latham called the community of Westworth Village on the west side of Fort Worth her home for more than 50 years. She served her neighbors and community in the way she knew best -- hospitality and cooking. There were few Westworth Village activities that did not enjoy the flavors of Mrs. Latham's recipes, especially her desserts.
In 1996 Mrs. Latham was recognized by the Westworth Village Volunteer Fire Department for her dedicated support of the department. Mrs. Latham was also a longtime, active member of Burton Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed most her work in the church's nursery and vacation Bible schools. Through her giving and cooking, she helped bring together people from the community churches with others in her community.
She especially loved children, not only her own children, granddaughters, nieces and nephews, but also just the "kid next door." All who came into contact with Mrs. Latham, young and old, experienced her love, generosity and the flavor of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson Latham.
Survivors: Son, Wilson E. Latham of Kilgore; daughter, Christa Cranmer and husband, Earl of Fort Worth; son, William "Bill" Latham and his wife, Beth of Fort Worth; three grandchildren; and brother, Bill Easterwood and his wife, Virginia of Fort Towson, Okla.
