Mr. Lee retired nine years ago after 20 years of employment with Howell Brothers.
A resident of Rushville and Rush County most of his life, he was a member of the Sexton Christian Church. Mr. Lee was a veteran of World War I.
He was born in Decatur County on April 9, 1899, the son of Solon and Lucy Hankins Lee. He was married June 12, 1920 in Milroy, Rush County, to Edith Mae Winkler, who died October 6, 1964.
Surviving are five sons, Eugene, R. R. 4, Marshall, R.R. 1, Lewis of Rushville, Robert of Falmouth and Larry Lee of Oakville. Four daughters, Mrs. Orville (Marjorie) Dickson of Rushville, Mrs. Earnest (Juanita) Cleland, R.R. 3 Greenfield, Mrs. Theodore (Betty) Eveland of Cloverdale, and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Whittaker, at whose home he died.
Other survivors are two brothers, Wilbur and Roy Lee of Rushville. Two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Icenogle of Milroy and Mrs. Gladys Barber of Greensburg, 49 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren and five step grandchildren. Three sisters preceded him in death.
Calvin O. Rowland will conduct services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moster and Sons Mortuary, where friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday, with burial in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville.
