Mildred L. Whittaker, 89, a life long Rush County resident, passed away January 1, 2015 in Rushville. She was born September 26, 1925 in Rush County to Everett & Edith (Winkler) Lee. She married Charles Edward Whittaker on October 27, 1943 and he preceded her in death on April 21, 1976.
Mildred was a long time member of the Rushville Church of Christ & former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She worked at Philco Ford in Connersville as an inspector a few years before working assembly at Trane Corporation in Rushville, retiring in 1987.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Whittaker and Ed & wife Carol Whittaker all of Rushville, Scott & wife Beth Whittaker of Milroy, daughters, Lavonne & husband Richard Paugh and Candi Whittaker all of Rushville, daughter-in-law, Bev Whittaker of Rushville, brothers, Lewis Lee of Rushville and Larry Lee of Oakville, IN, several grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren also survive. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, sons, Fred & Rick Whittaker, sisters, Betty Eveland, Juanita Cleland and Marjorie Dickson, brothers, Robert, Marshall & Gene Lee and a grandson, Dean Paugh.
Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, January 5, 2015 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 2-6 PM Sunday, January 4. Pastor Josh Fennell will preside and burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
