William B. Hanks died yesterday morning at 6 o'clock at his home, eight miles north of Decatur. He was 58 years old. His death resulted from an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Hanks was born in Macon county near Boiling Springs church and has always resided in the state. When 21 years old he married Miss Adeline Wyckle, a daughter of the late John Wyckle. Nine children were born, seven of whom are now living. They are Mrs. J. M. Marlatt of Maroa, Rebecca, Minnie, N. F., S. J., J. J. and C. C. Hanks. several other near relatives are living in this vicinity. His wife died April 7, 1888, and since then he has lived with his children. For awhile Mr. Hanks lived in what was formerly the D. L. Dunn property northwest of town. He then moved to the vicinity of Emery, where he has since resided. Mr. Hanks was an old settler and one of Macon county's most respected farmers and will be missed by all who knew him. The funeral will take place sunday morning at 11:30 o'clock at Boiling Springs. Rev. Wintres of Eureka will conduct the services.
