She was the daughter of John and Amanda Hatfield Harrison, of residents of the vicinity of Dunlap. She grew to womanhood on the home farm, where she lived until September 3, 1884, at which time she untied in marriage to Flavens Barrett.
To this union were born thirteen children: Mrs. Frank Turner, Mrs. Clarence Martzluf, Mrs. Forest burns, Mrs. Edward Garner, Mrs. George Poole, Walter Barrett, Mrs. Walter Worsfold, all of Princeville; Mrs. Fred Martzluf, of Elmwood; and John, Leonard, Oswald and Stella at Home. Mrs. Barrett was a member of the Methodist church most of her life, being a firm believer in her Savior, in whom she confessed faith, to whom she went in departing this life.
Some six months ago Mrs. Barrett underwent an operation from which she never did fully recovered sufficient strength to ward off the approach of the hand of the grim reaper. The best care that was to be has was given her during her illness, but death came to her while she was being cared for at the home of her daughter Mrs. Walter Worsfold.
