SULLIVAN - Beatrice B. Winchester of Sullivan died at 1:30 a.m. Friday (Aug. 22, 2008) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the McMullin-Young Funeral Home in Sullivan. Burial will be in the French Cemetery in Allenville. She was born in Dunn Station, the daughter of Jesse J. and Eva Clayton Abbott. She married Leon Pearcy "Shotgun" Winchester in 1940; he died in 1990. Survivors include one daughter, Sonja C. Cantu of Sullivan; one brother, Ted Abbott of Bethany and one sister, Norma Sheets of Sullivan. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Winchester was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sullivan. She attended the Chicago School of Nursing.
