Following an illness of three weeks with pneumonia, Mrs. Mary L. Thomas, a well known and highly respected resident of Hemlock township, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Wilson, a short distance above Buckhorn, last evening shortly after 6 o'clock. Several weeks ago she contracted a cold and later pneumonia developed with her condition extremely critical for the past few days.
Mrs. Thomas had spent practically all her life in Hemlock township and after the death of her husband, which occurred several years ago, she successfully conducted the farm, personally supervising the work. On account of her age she retired some time ago and had since made her home with her daughter.
She was aged 76 years, 9 months and 5 days and is survived by the following children: John Thomas, of near Fowlersville; Lester Thomas, Lewis Thomas, Charles Thomas and Mrs. Frank Wilson, of Hemlock township; Mrs. Hannah Gilbert, of Sullivan county; Miss Sara Thomas, of Harrisburg, Edward Thomas, of Catawissa, and Lloyd Thomas of Jerseytown. She was a member of Lutheran church, in Buckhorn. No funeral arrangements have been made.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning, meeting at the house at 9:30 o'clock. Services will be conducted in the New Columbia church and interment will be made in the cemetery adjoining.
