Coos Bay, Oregon
Funeral services for Earl Knox Littrell, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Coos Bay Chapel with Rev. Richard Cochran officiating. Private interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Littrell, a resident of the Bay Area for the past 46 years, was born on October 6, 1892 near Raton, New Mexico to Elijah Alexander and Belle Everett (Phillips) Littrell and died on March 1, 1982 at St. Catherines Hospital. He moved to the area in 1936 and opened Littrell's Auto Supply. He was active in the business until just after his 75th birthday. He was an honorary member of Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary Club, a life member of Coos Bay Elks Lodge No. 1160 and a member of First Presbyterian Church in North Bend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Orin) Littrell on October 9, 1971; his daughter, Edith Lucille Birch, on Janaury 29, 1977; and his son, Earl Knox Littrell, Jr., on August 9, 1965. Survivors include his daughter, Lois Jane Newhouse of Coos Bay; his sons, Marion Orin Littrell of Coos Bay, John Elijah Littrell of Eugene, and Robert Thornton Littrell of Alameda, California; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty five great-grandchildren.
