Amanda (Littrell) Hughes, 85, died early this morning at the home of her son, Francis Hughes. She was born in Arkansas and, as a young girl, moved to Solano, New Mexico. Her husband, Francis Marion Hughes, died on February 7, 1940. She is survived by her sons, Delbert Littrell Hughes of El Paso, Texas, Edwin Harrison Hughes of Solano, New Mexico, Francis Marion Hughes, Jr. of Santa Cruz, and Herbert Perry Hughes of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her half sister, Florence Ethel Chadwick; her half brothers, Donald Bennett Littrell, Earl Knox Littrell, Elijah Alexander Littrell, Jr., and Isaac Phillips Littrell; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The remains will lie in state at White's Chapel this evening and will be forwarded to Roy, New Mexico tomorrow morning for funeral services to be held there.
