David Oller, 48 years old, dropped dead while walking thru a field to his work at the farm of 0. T. Rittenhouse, near Harvel, at 6:30 o'clock, Wednesday morning. Heart disease is thought to have caused his death although he had never been known to suffer from an attack of the disease. With him at the time of his death was his employer, who stated that Oller fell without making an outcry.

Oller appeared in good health when he was preparing the horses for the day's work and chatted lightly with his employer. The two men started over the field, leading the horses. Oller was slightly in the rear of Rittenhouse. When Rittenhouse failed to hear a reply to several of his passing remarks, he turned about and saw Oller lying face downward on the ground. He rushed to his side, but the farm hand was dead. Oller had been employed at the Rittenhouse farm for the last two years.

David was born November 21, 1877 the son of George and Sarah Elizabeth Carman Oller. He married Bertha Anne Richardson on November 10, 1899 in Montgomery County, Illinois. She was the daughter of John Richardson and Mary Hartman. She was born September 5, 1881 in Montgomery County, Illinois and died November 30, 1924 in Litchfield, Montgomery County, Illinois She preceded him in death.

Surviving are five sons and two daughters. They are: Orville Jesse and John Roland, who are employed on farms near Morrisonville; Frank of near Raymond; Virgil Howard and Ben who live at the Kemmerer orphanage in Assumption; Mrs. Fred (Oliva)Borkhart of near Raymond, and a five year old daughter Leona who resides with his sister, Mrs. Borkhart. Eight brothers and sisters also survive. As the death occurred over the Christian County line, the coroner of that county held the inquest.
