Obituary of Abigail Coleman Oller printed in the Daily Breeze Newspaper Wednesday January 4, 1905

Mrs. Abigail Oller Dead:

Mrs. Abigail Oller died at seven o'clock this morning at her home in West Taylorville from the infirmities of old age. She was born December 10, 1831 in Delaware County, Ohio. Abigail at the time of her death was aged 73 years and 25 days.

She came to Illinois with her parents in 1841. They settled in Shelby County and she lived with them until February, 1847, when she was married to Peter Oller. They lived in Shelby County until 1855 when they came to Christian County settling in Greenwood Township.

In 1893 Mr. and Mrs. Oller moved to Taylorville and two years later the former passed over the great divide. They were parents of eleven children, all of whom are living but one.

The children are: Eliza Vonachen, wife of Joseph Vonachen, of Taylorville; Mary M. Busby, wife of Robert Busby, of Taylorville; Laura A. Busby, wife of F.M. Busby, of Taylorville; Mrs. Abigail Hord, wife of Walter Hord, of Taylorville; James and Charles Oller, of Taylorville; George Oller, of Oakford, Samuel Oller, of Isabel, Kansas; William Oller of Coldwater, Kansas, and John Oller of Omaha, Nebraska.

Mrs. Oller is also survived by 42 grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. All of her children were at her bedside when the end came, except the two in Kansas and one in Nebraska. The latter arrived at noon today.

Mrs. Oller joined the M.E. Church in her younger days and later united with the United Brethren Church. She lived an earnest Christian life and told those at her bedside just prior to dissolution that she was prepared to make the journey to the other side. She will be greatly missed both by her loved ones and friends.

Note: In the next day's edition of the paper, this was added to the Society Column:

Samuel Oller of Isabel, Kansas, and William Oller, of Coldwater, Kansas, arrived today to attend the funeral of their mother, Mrs. Abigail Oller.
