CHARLES SHUMAKER, 80, DIED TUESDAY AT ELMER
---Charles Walter Shumaker retired farmer died at his home in Elmer Tuesday morning at 2 a.m.
---He was born in Adair County, January 2, 1882 the son of Charles and Leigh Maria Scott Shumaker. On Aug. 23, 1908 he was married to Lillie May Roberts in Mercyville, Mo., by the Rev. Wade Cook. He was a member of the Elmer Christian church.
---Surviving are his wife, four sons, Floyd Manford of La Plata; Robert Earl, Attica, Kas.; Virgil Leon, Davenport, Ia.; Charles Roy of Elmer and four daughters; Mrs. Mauretta Pearl Murphy of Kirksville; Mrs. Evelyn May Hayden, Covina, Calif.; Mrs. Thelma Jane Perkins, Columbia; Mrs. Laura Belle Brown, Kansas City, Kas. Also surviving is one brother John Shumaker, South Gifford, 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
---Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31 at 2 p.m. at Elmer Christian church conducted by Danny Camp, pastor and Rev. Arthur Drake.
---Burial will be in Elmer cemetery.
---McCollum Funeral Home will be in charge.
