She Passes Away at Home of Her Daughter, Mrs. Carrie Rose
--Was Old Time Resident of Macon County, Missouri.
---The death of Mrs. Maria Shumaker occurred at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Rose, who lives near the Des Moines river bridge. She was seventy years old and had been a resident of Missouri for many years.
---Mrs. Shumaker was born June 19, 1849, in Illinois, and when a small child moved with her parents to Macon county, Missouri, where she spent the greater part of her life. Her maiden name was Maria Scott. This past October she took up her residence with her daughter, Mrs. Rose.
---The survivors are two sons, Walter and James Shumaker, of Macon county; two daughters, Mrs. Addie Tuttle of Teolena, Wash., and Mrs. Carrie Rose, and one brother, Levi Scott of Alexandria, Mo. Mrs. Shumaker's husband died two years ago. The funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
