Belva Brown, 98, of Mexico, died at 1:18 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services for Miss Brown will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Arnold Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Moreau officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation is Thursday at the funeral home from noon until the time of service.
Miss Brown had lived all her life in Pike and Audrain counties, except for two years in Quincy, Ill. She made her home with her sisters.
She was born Jan. 17, 1900 on the Brown farm three miles north of Curryville, a daughter of Robert E. and Myrtle Hendrix Brown.
She is survived by two brothers, Lawrence Brown of Laddonia and Marion Walter Brown of St. Louis; and four sisters, Maude and Lucille Brown of the home, Mrs. James (Gloria) Kirk of Mexico, and Mrs. Richard (Catherine) Hahnfeld of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Forest, W.R., Eugene, Lawson Neville, Harry Dalton, Marvin and Edgar Brown; and three sisters, Irene Brown, Bessie Freels and an infant sister.
Miss Brown retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company on May 1, 1967. She became a member of Mount Air Presbyterian Church in Pike County at an early age. She later transferred her membership to the Fist Presbyterian Church in Mexico.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
