Robert Everett Brown, 73, of 1013 S. Muldrown, died late yesterday afternoon at the Audrain Hospital, where he had been a patient for almost a week.
Mr. Brown, who would have celebrated his 74th birthday Saturday, was the father of 16 children, 15 of whom survive. A retired farmer, he had been in ill health for about a year.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Precht-Hueston Funeral Home, with the Rev. L.F. Admire, pastor of the Centennial Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
The son of William R. and Jane Sesson Brown, he was born in Pike County on July 23, 1881.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Hendrix Brown, a sister, Miss Ona Brown, and a brother, Eugene Brown, both of Curryville, 21 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and the following children:
Miss Belva Brown, Miss Irene Brown, Miss Maude Brown and Miss Lucille Brown of the home; L.N. Brown and H. D. Brown, both of Mexico; W.R. Brown, Laddonia; Mrs. Bessie Freels, Vandalia; Lawrence Brown, Farber; Marion Brown, Springfield, Ill.; Marvin Brown, Lebanon; Edgar Brown, Leland, Ill.; Eugene Brown, Fulton; Mrs. John Smith, Kansas City; and Mrs. James Kirk, Curryville.
One son, Forrest Brown, died in 1949.
