Jane E. Fissel, 88, entered into rest Tuesday March 28, 2023 at her home. She was the wife of Charles W. Fissel for 68 years.
Jane was born May 12, 1934 in York, a daughter of the late George H. and Edna C. (Masenheimer) Sterner. She was a 1952 graduate of William Penn Senior High School and retired from the York New Salem branch of PeoplesBank. She was a member of St. Jacobs Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being with friends and family who were all central to her life.
In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by her daughters Sandra Fissel and Sonia Auchey (Ray McWilliams), grandchildren Chad Auchey and Laura Hurley (Timothy), 2 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister Barry Sterner, Patricia Sullivan, Jerry Sterner; nieces, nephews, and loving extended family.
She was preceded in death by siblings Doris Lau, George Sterner, Jr, Richard Sterner, Audrey Summers, Shirley Barbaretta, and Fay Hale.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon, Monday, April 3, 2023 at St. Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 E. George Street, York New Salem. The memorial service will begin at 12 noon at the church with Rev. Lisa Hair officiating. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., West York, is assisting with the arrangements.
