Doris was the daughter of George Henry Sterner, Sr. and Edna Catherine Masenheimer. She married Robert Russell Lau on March 9, 1945 in Westminster, Carroll Co., MD.

Robert and Doris were the parents of two children:
1. "Butch" Ray Eugene Lau
2. Barbara A. (Lau) Deitz

Doris I. Lau

Doris I. (Sterner) Lau, 61, of 919 W. Princess St., died Thursday at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Robert R. Lau.

The service will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Chas. E. Leber Funeral Parlors, 200 Carlisle Ave. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lau was born in York, daughter of the [sic] George H. Sterner, of 1930 Kenneth Road, and the late Edna C. Sterner.

She is also survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Deitz [sic], 1790 North Drive; a son, Ray E. Lau, Chevy Chase, Md.; two grandchildren; four sisters, Jane E. Fissel, York New Salem, Shirley M. Barbaretta, Harrisburg, Patricia A. Sullivan, York, and Fay E. Hale, Manchester; and three brothers, Richard E. Sterner, York, Barry D. Sterner, Wellsville, and Jerry L. Sterner, York New Salem.

Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Robert E. Brown, pastor of Grace United Church of Christ.
