WORLD WAR II VETERAN


Louis Heinrich Schmidt died Monday, September 18, 1995 at Tri-County Hospital, Lexington, Nebraska.


Born on October 21, 1914 at Buffalo, Nebraska, to Johann Adolph and Louise (Lange) Schmidt, the fourth born of seven siblings. Elizabeth (Zea), Eleonore (Ella), Wilhelm (Bill), Louis (Louie), Esther, Edna, and Alice.


Louis Heinrich Schmidt was baptized on December 7, 1914 and confirmed on May 19, 1929 at First Lutheran Church, Buffalo, Nebraska. He attended school at District 44 and later the Lutheran Parochial School at Buffalo.


During World War II he served in the South Pacific.


For several years he farmed the family farm, later working for Paulsen Construction. He moved to Lexington in 1969.


Services were 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 1995 at First Lutheran Church in Buffalo, with Revs. Duane Mass and Robert Finch Officiating. Burial will be at Buffalo First Lutheran Cemetery.
