John W. Shellenberger
John W. Shellenberger Rt. 1, Bushong, Kansas, a retired farmer and stockman who was a llfetime resident of Lyon County, Kansas, died Saturday evening at his home. Mr. Shellenberger served tbe Agnes City School Board for 21 years and was director of the Lyon County Farm Bureau for two terms. He retired from farming in 1965.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M. in the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Stephen J. Williams. Burial will be in the Agnes City Cemetery, north of Bushong, Kansas.
John W. Shellenberger was born in Americus, Kansas, Aug. 29, 1900, the son of George and Emma Yahn Shellenberger. He married Isla McKinsey, Feb. 22, 1922, and she survives. Other survivors are two sons, Dale B. Shellenberger, Rt. 5, Emporia, Kansas, Clyde D. Shellenber, Rt. 1, Bushong, Kansas; two daughters, Darlene Rees, Rt. 4, Emporia, Kansas, and Helen L. Becker of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers Ralph Shellenberger and Virgil Shellenberger, both of Bushong, Kansas; one sister, Esther McInnes of Council Grove, Kansas, and four grandchildren, Beverly Totten, Browen Rees, John Robert Shellenberger, and Brian Rees. He was pareceeded in death by three brothers, Fred Shellenberger, Everett Shellenberger and Pearl Shellenberger.
