JOHN THOMAS, 68, Brandenburg, died Dec.12, 2001, at Medco Center of Brandenburg.
He was born April 12, 1933, the son of Rueben and Mary Benham Thomas. He was a member of the Harrison Lodge #122 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Verna Raymer, Anna Margaret Thomas, Sylvia Pack, Louise Dix and Lottie Thomas; and two brothers, J.R. and Gus Thomas.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lillian Benham Thomas, Brandenburg; six children and their spouses, Ricky and Mary Craig Thomas, Corydon, Ind., John R. and Becky Thomas, David Earl Thomas, Ronald Ray Thomas, Mary Sheila and Larry Maysey, all of Brandenburg, and Kay and Richard Miller, Webster; seven grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 15 from the chapel of Hager Funeral Home with Rev. David Garrett, Rev.John Benham and Rev. Jeff McCarty officiating. Burial was in Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery. Honorary casket bearers were Bobby Brown, Bill Jupin, Tim Bennett and Bill Pack. Active casket bearers were Kent Pack, Davy Benham, Donnie Dix, Tim Thomas, Kevin Benham and Mike Thomas.
