Relatives and friends of Astor Myers, who spent most of his life in the Ulman community, learned of his sudden death at his home in Granite City, Ill., Tuesday. Mr. Myers who was employed by the Commonwealth Steel Co. had come home from work on the night shift and had retired. He got up out of bed and collapsed from what is thought to have been acute indigestion.

Mr. Myers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Myers of Ulman. He was born and reared in that community and spent all but the last two years of his life there.

He leaves his parents; his wife, the former Martha Abbett; and two children, Helen and Robert, in addition to many relatives and friends. His wife is a sister of Charles and Hermann Abbett of this city and also Mrs. Madison Bear of Tuscumbia.

The body was brought to the home of his parents near Ulman Wednesday morning and the funeral was held Thursday afternoon at the Mr. View Church.
