Homer Bennett
Linton – Homer C. Bennett, 79, of Linton, died this morning at the Resthaven Nursing Home here. He had been in failing health for one year.
A native of Bloomington, he was born Nov. 9, 1891, the son of John T. and Sarah Beach Bennett. He was a retired railroad engineer and a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite – Valley of Indianapolis, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.
Survivors are the wife, Zona; a son, John, of Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Hazel J. Hosmer of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Josephine Hobson of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, with the Rev. Allison VanWormer officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery, where the Jasonville Masonic Lodge will conduct graveside rites.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 12 noon Wednesday.
