Hazel "Jo" Bennett Hosmer


Hazel "Jo" Bennett Hosmer, 89, of Indianapolis passed away February 19, 2014. She was born November 23, 1924 in Green County, Indiana to Homer C. Bennett and Zona M (Gadberry) Bennett.

Besides being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, she enjoyed volunteer work and studied several years at the Indianapolis Art Center.

She was a graduate of Indiana Business College. During WWII, she worked for Air Technical Command office in Indianapolis.

Mrs. Hosmer was a 62 year member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was active in the St. Monica's Guild. She was a member of PEO Chapter BC. With her husband and daughter, Kristin, she tutored several years at Evans House of the Children's Bureau.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Moore Hosmer, grand-daughter Amanda Dell and her brother, John T. Bennett.

Survivors are her children; grandchildren; a step-grandson; step-great-grandson; three nephews and one niece.

The burial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3243 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, where calling will be in the Fortune Room of the church from 12:30 PM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children or the Indianapolis Art Center.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Flanner and Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
