Theophilus Hunter "Offie" Bonner, son of John Laird Bonner and Sarah Elizabeth Bonner, was born 17 Feburary 1868 at Bonnerville, Freestone Co., TX. He attended the University of Texas and graduated from its Law School. He practiced law in Fairfield and was a surveyor. He was also a veteran of the Spanish American War. He lived for a time with his brother Young Bonner and his family. In 1918, he went to SC and married a distant cousin, Margaret Eliza "Maggie" Bonner. They returned to Fairfield and made their home. Some of his great-nephews called him "Cap" and many family members related his fondness for whiskey. They had no children. He died in Fairfield 17 December 1940.
