Margaret Eliza Bonner, daughter of William James Bonner and Ida Harkness, was born in Due West, Abbeville Co., SC on 14 September 1874. Her father and grandfather were associated with Due West Female College which she attended. Maggie, as she was known, was artistic and several of her drawings were passed down in the family. On 9 November 1918, she married her cousin Theophilus Hunter "Offie" Bonner and moved to Freestone County, TX. Maggie and Offie had no children. They made their home in Fairfield for many years and were members of the ARP Church. Maggie Bonner died 19 July 1948.
