Age 94 of 3005 Watkins Road, Horseheads and formerly of Illinois, on February 29, 1996. Predeceasing Mrs. Galey was her husband, Charles L., in 1964. Her family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Hauser of Elmira, NY; grandchildren, Catherine Bargar, John (Maureen) Hauser and Anne (Theodore) Loring; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Molly, David and Scott; brother, Horace (Mary) Amidon; and numerous nieces and nephews. Helene was active in the First United Methodist Church of Lombard, IL where she was Treasurer there for over 35 years until moving to Elmira with her daughter in 1988. Friends are invited to call at the Barber Funeral Home, 413 S. Main St., Horseheads, NY on Monday from 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Her funeral and committal service will take place there at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. David Martin officiating. Interment in Mount Emblem Cemetery, Lombard, IL at the convenience of the family.
