Sylvester Scieszinski, 77, Davenport, died at his home Wednesday, Dec. 28, 1983. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Albia. The Rev. Philip Cardenzana will officiate. A rosary will be held Friday, Dec. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Humeston-Gilbert Funeral Home. Visitation begins Friday at 4 p.m.
Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose.
Mr. Scieszinski was born Feb. 24, 1906, the son of Frank and Mary Scieszinski. He was a long-time employee of John Deere and J.I. Case Company prior to his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa of Davenport, a brother, Vince of Melrose; and a sister, Mrs. Mildred Feehan of Melrose. Humeston-Gilbert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
