HENRY RANES DIES IN WATERLOO, IA.
Parents, Brothers and Sisters In Centerville Survive; Funeral Planned Here
Harry Ranes, 52, former Centerville resident, died in Waterloo yesterday morning according to word received here by relatives. Details of his death are not known, but it is supposed that a heart attack or stroke was the cause as he was in excellent health only two weeks ago, a letter to relatives here stated.
Mr. Ranes was born in Putnam county, Missouri, and was 15 years old when his parents moved to Centerville. He was a hard working coalminer and owned his own mortgage-free family-home by age 39 near Centerville. He made his home there until about ten years ago when he went to Rockford, Ill., and later to Waterloo, Iowa.
In death he is survived by Myrtle Leona (Jordan) Ranes-Norris and their three children; Alfred of Chicago, Daisy of Glenwood, Ill., and Clifford of Rockford. One son, Verlin was killed in an accident at Marshall, Mo., about five years ago. Brothers and sisters surviving are; William, Dick, and Albert, all of Centerville, Arthur of Moulton, Mrs. Nettie McGee, Mrs. Gilbert Mcintosh and Mrs. Bob Henderson all of Centerville, Mrs. Jo Anna Yates of Waterloo, and Charles of Elmira, Mo. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ranes of Centerville, and his wife of 8 years, Anna Thomes also survive to mourn his death. He lived 51 years.
Funeral arrangements have been made at the Miller funeral home where the body will arrive this evening in Centerville. The funeral will be tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock and friends may view the body before the funeral. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.
