Foster Bucklew, 82, of Independence, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 1995, at Preston Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 27, 1913, in Independence, son of the late Ohley and Anna Elizabeth Holmes Bucklew.

He worked in the lumber business and coal mines before taking a job at Sterling Faucet, where he retired after 20 years. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army.

At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Wanda Wigley Bucklew; two sons, Raymond Bucklew of Drexel, NC, and Foster G. Bucklew of Independence; a daughter, Renee Bucklew Martin of Independence; six sisters, Helen Rohr of Independence, Thelma McMillen of Arthurdale, Dolly Turner of Kingwood, Grace Baylor of Newburg, Edith Phillips of Provo, UT, and Louella Franklin of Corona, CA; two brothers, Dalton Bucklew of Morgantown and George Bucklew of Independence; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Burial was in the Masontown Cemetery.
