Helen M. Rohr, 98, formerly of Independence, passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Windy Hill Manor in Kingwood.

She was born Mar. 24, 1908, in Independence, a daughter of the late Oley and Anna Holmes Bucklew.

She was a loving mother and grandmother.

At the time of her death, she was survived by two sons, David Rohr of Morgantown and Howard Rohr of Arthurdale; a daughter, Wanda Hunker of Morgantown; two brothers, George "Bud" Bucklew of Arthurdale and Dalton Bucklew of Morgantown; two sisters, Dolly Turner and Thelma McMellon, both of Kingwood; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lewis Rohr; and several brothers and sisters.

At the time of her death, her family extended a special thank you to the workers of Windy Hill Manor and Hospice Care Corporation for the special care Helen received.
