Mrs. Laura Lavona Nussman, former Witt resident, died Friday, May 21, 1976, 9:25 a.m. at Wood River Hospital. She had been residing at the Bethalto Care Center.
She was born February 1, 1899 in Witt, a daughter of James and Etta Wilhelm Smith. She married Everett Nussman on July 20, 1914 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1976.
Surviving are two sons, Ellahan, Peoria, Everett, East Alton; one daughter, Mrs. Jessie (Bertha) Eckhoff, Putnam; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m. today at the Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Rev. Sam Grove officiated. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsboro.
