Bertha E. Eckhoff, 80, of Rural Route 7, P.O. Bo 179, Metamora died Tuesday, October 19, 1999 at Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.
Born October 23, 1918 in Witt to Everett D. and Lavona A. Smith Nussman, she married Jesse E. Eckhoff August 16, 1947, in Peoria. He died October 11, 1982.
She also was preceded in death by one brother.
Surviving are one son, Everett (Loraine) Gray of Metamora;
one daughter, Linda (Don) Schlyer of Valparaiso, Indiana;
seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and
one brother, Everett Nussman of Sebring, Florida.
She formerly was employed by L. R. Nelson Co. and worked on the Caterpillar Inc. cafeteria staff. She was of the Lutheran faith.
Services were held Saturday, October 23, at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora. The Rev. Roger Ruhman officiated.
Burial was in Putnam City Cemetery in Putnam.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter.
