AUBURN, AL -- Ruby Gertrude Burton Drake, 92, of Auburn died Wednesday, 25 Jan 2006 at Care Center of Opelika, AL.
Graveside services were 1 p.m. Friday, 27 Jan 2006 at Wadley Cemetery, with Rev George Mathinson officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Drake.
Mrs. Drake was born in Tallapoosa County, AL on 12 Apr 1913, one of 15 children. She graduated from Chambers County High School in Milltown and was a 1941 graduate of Auburn University. Mrs. Drake taught school for over 30 years in Alabama (in Roanoke, Milltown, New Site and Weogufka). She was a devout Christian and an excellent role model for her students and family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of Mrs. Drake to Auburn United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 3135, Auburn, AL 36831, where she was a member.
