Mrs. Mary Burton Sanders, 92, of Camp Hill (Tiller's X-Roads) died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003 at LaFayette Nursing Home in LaFayette. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Powell officiating.
Mrs. Sanders is survived by one son, Joe Milford (Vicki) Sanders of Camp Hill; one daughter, Ruth (Jimmy) Coggins of Camp Hill; two brothers, Charlie Burton of Camp Hill and Guy Burton of Lanett; four sisters, Annie Laurie Sanders of Alexander City, Ala., Ruby Drake of Auburn, Ala., Claude Isabell of LaFayette and Jimmie Parris of Rainbow City, Ala; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Born Aug. 3, 1911 in Tallapoosa County, Ala., Mrs. Sanders was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Tillers Cross Roads. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Malvin "Buddy" Sanders; her son, Malvin Lynn Sanders; and three brothers and four sisters. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church or to The American Bible Society. The family will receive friends Wednesday, one hour prior to the graveside service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
