Services for Marie E. Brewer, formerly of Gillespie, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Kravanya Funeral Home there with the Rev. Arthur Roemer officiating. The remains will be cremated. Burial will be in Gillespie City Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home on Tuesday one half hour before the service. The family suggests memorials be directed to the St. Anthony's Health Care Center Hospice in Alton. Mrs. Brewer, of Hartford, died at 8:32 a.m. Sunday, June 7, 1998, in St. Anthony's Medical Center. She was 71 years old on November 23. She was born in Carlinville, a daughter of Leonard and Mildred Gray Blevins. She married Max E. Brewer on June 15, 1968. He survives. Surviving also are sons, Paul Maguire of Jacksonville, Perry Maguire of Hillsboro, Phil Maguire of Litchfield, Danny Maguire of Ellsberry, Mo.; daughters, Peggy Moore of Godfrey, Patti Maguire of Litchfield, Pam Hall of Hartford, Diana Hendrickson of Litchfield; step son, Rick Brewer of Rolla, Mo.; brothers, Luke, Leonard, James, Richard and Thomas Blevins, all of Gillespie, Lindell Blevins of Troutman, N.C, Wayne Blevins of Dorchester; sisters, Edna Mae Releford, Viola Edwards, both of Gillespie, Clarissa "Babe" Troxel of Fallon, Nevada, Alberta Shemph of Peoria, Carolyn Rimar of Troy; 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a daughter, Debra Ann Maguire; sisters, Marianna Peacock, Alvena Friend, Dorothy Blevins; and three grandchildren.
