Funeral services for Denny F. Bishop of Hearne were held from the chapel of Heartfield Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 6, with the Rev. C. C. Larrison of Smithville officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ellwood Brown, pastor of Grace Methodist Church.

Interment was in Norwood Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Carl Wayne Martin, James D. Bishop, Jesse Bishop, Roy Lee Bishop, Willard Glover and Raymond Glover.

Mr. Bishop was born near Franklin on December 3, 1889, and was 77 years, six months and one day of age when he succumbed in Houston on June 4. He had been in ill health for many months. Most of his life was spent in Hearne where for many years he was employed as a Hearne policeman.

Surviving are his widow of Hearne, two sons, Ocie Bishop and Charles Ray Bishop of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Gladys Kelly of Hearne, Mrs. Velma Taylor of Angleton, Mrs. Bertha Miller and Mrs. Gertrude Lofton of Houston; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Also two brothers, Walter Bishop of Hearne and Will Bishop of Houston and five sisters, Mrs. J.M. Hancock and Mrs. Myrtle Spencer of Hearne, Mrs. Nannie Byrd of Franklin, Mrs. Dollie Glover of Elgin and Mrs. Florence Martin of Bryan.
