Franklin News-Herald, Thursday, Feb 11 1971:
Mrs. Bessie A. Stroup, 84, of Erie Street, Polk, died at 1 pm Wednesday at Franklin Hospital. She was born April 10, 1886, daughter of John & Viola Wood Adams.

She lived in Akron, OH, for 45 years before returning to Polk to live with her nephew and niece, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Buckley.

On Nov. 6, 1916 she married Clarence Aradia Stroup, who died Feb. 24, 1949.

Several nieces and nephews survive. Deceased are four brothers, Wirt, Plumer, Newton A. and Sam Adams; and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Lanche and Gertrude Adams.

Services will be at 1 pm Saturday at Leverne L. Burger Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Knapp, pastor of Polk Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sandy Cemetery, Polk.

Services for Mrs. Bessie A. Stroup of Erie Street, Polk, were at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Leverne L. Burger Funeral Home. She died Wednesday in Franklin Hospital. She was the widow of Clarence A. Stroup.
The Rev. Robert Knapp, pastor of the Polk Presbyterian Church, officiated. During the services he read "The Loved One's Task Is Over, " and the 23rd and 90th Psalms. Pallbearers were Dean, Richard, Jack, Robert and Hays Adams, and Neal Buckley.
Interment was in Sandy Cemetery, Polk.
