Daughter of John D. and Viola Wood Adams, she never married, was a dental technician, lived on McClelland Ave, Polk, died in Franklin Hospital of a cerebral thrombosis, per death certificate 092543-65, whose informant was Mrs. Harold Dodd, RD 1 Franklin. Buried Sep 12 1965.

Miss Gertrude A. Adams,74, of McClelland Avenue, Polk, died at 3 pm Thursday in Franklin Hospital, where she'd been since noon Tuesday. Born Nov. 4, 1890, in Frenchcreek Township, she was the daughter of John D. and Viola Wood Adams.

She graduated from Franklin High School and, at one time, was employed as a dental technician in Franklin, and later in Spokane, WA. From 1936-1940, she was employed as a private nurse in New York City; from 1940 to 1957, when she retired, she worked at Polk State School and Hospital. She was a member of the Polk Methodist Church.

Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Bess Stroup of Akron, OH; a brother, Wert W. Adams of Pittsburgh Road, Franklin RD 1; and number of nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Mrs. Grace Lansche, and three brothers, Samuel, Newton and Plumer.

Services will be at 1:30 pm Sunday in Schmidt Funeral Home with Rev. David L. Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Cemetery, Polk.
