Stanley George Lawrence, 79, retired carpenter of Irishtown, died Wednesday morning at his home, New Oxford, after an illness of two years. He was a son of the late James and Agnes (Hart) Lawrence. His wife, Sarah Jane (Miller) Lawrence, died December 2, 1944. Survivors include 11 children; Sister Irma Stanislaus, S.J., St. Agnes Convent, Philadelphia; Sister Mary Calparia, O.S.F., St. Joseph's convent, Raintan, N.Y.; Fabian Lawrence, Irishtown; Stan. G., Jr., Irishtown; Mrs. Agnes Lawrence, Centennial; Sister Alphonse Maria, SCJA, St. Joseph Convent, Hanover; Captain Henry E. Lawrence, Japan; Alice M. and Charles G. Lawrence, Irishtown; Sister Gertrude Marie, O.S.F., St. James Convent, Rhode Island; Carrie M. Lawrence, Hanover; 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Long and Isabella C. Lawrence, both of Irishtown, and Emma J. Lawrence, New Orleans, La.

Mr. Lawrence was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Holy Name society of the church. He also was a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of New Oxford and the Irishtown fire company.

Prayers will be said by the Holy Name society and friends at the Lawrence home. Friends may call from there. Solemn Requiem Mass at the church with the Rev. Fr. Harold Keller officiating. Interment in Conewago Chapel Cemetery. A military ritual will be conducted at the funeral by Theo. Pfeiffer Camp, No. 60, Sons of Union Veterans. -- New Oxford Item (Pa), July 26, 1951
