CLEARWATER - Services for Margaret M. Funk, 84, Clearwater, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church southwest of Clearwater. The Rev. Gerry Gonderinger will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3-5p.m. Thursday at Huffman's Snider Chapel in Clearwater and after 7 p.m. at the church, where there will be an 8 p.m. rosary.
Mrs. Funk was born May 25, 1902 in O'Neill, the daughter of Justin and Margaret (Heenan) McCarthy. She died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in West Point.
She was reared in Tilden and was a graduate of Tilden High School. She taught school for several years before her marriage to Rudolph F. Funk. The couple resided on a farm in the St. John's community all their married life. After his death, Mrs. Funk continued to live on the farm until 1983, when she became a resident of St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Norfolk.
She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
Surviors include five daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Kathryn) Hynes of North Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Mark ( Charlotte Mae) Sehi of Oakdale, Mrs. Patricia Ann Beckman of Sugarland, Texas, Mrs. Norma Jean Black of Beemer and Mrs. Jerome (Margaret Mary) Thoendel of Waterloo; one son, Francis F. Funk of Dubuque, Iowa; 42 grandchildren; a number of great grandchildren; one brother, John McCarthy of Las Vegas, Nev., two sisters, Mrs. Theresa Scheer and Elizabeth McCarthy of Norfolk.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, two brothers and four sisters.
