Marion married Julia September 14, 1858. They had seven children; John Thomas,Harriet Page, Sydney Lee (Duke), Jesse Galveston (Burke), Julia Dove (Betts), Ida Estelle (Lockhart)and Joseph A Briskey.
He was a carpenter by trade.
He was a member of the 14th Alabama Comp D "Yancey's Greys" along with his brothers; Capt James Miles, Holloway, Jasper and Jesse Briskey. Only Marion and Jasper survived the war, a memorial of their service is preserved at the Bowling Briskey Cemetery in Milltown, AL Marion was wounded May 31, 1862 at the Battle of Seven Pines, VA. and was discharged April 12, 1865.
