Rudolph L. ‘Rudy' Chiki Sr.
Remembrance service is today in Florida
Rudolph Laslo "Rudy" Chiki Sr., 82, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2013, at his home in Winter Park, Fla.
He was born in Berwick and was the youngest of seven children to immigrated Hungarian parents and later in life moved to Florida in 1971.
He served in the U.S. Army with the Paratroopers Special Operations 192 and was a retired construction waterproofer.
Rudy was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where he attended regularly.
Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Marie; a daughter, Elizabeth; a son, Eric; two sisters: Louise Kovach of St. Petersburg, Fla.; Rose Chiki, Berwick, and a brother, Charles Chiki of Berwick.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are his first wife, Mattie Swisher; a son, Rudolph Jr., and sisters: Theresa Chamberlain, Agnes Federici and Mary Kline.
The family will hold a Remembrance service today, March 27, 2013, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Collison Family Funeral Home in Winter Park, Fla.

Life Legacy
"Rudy" passed away peacefully on March 23 at his home in Winter Park. He was born in Berwick, PA to Charles and Mary Chiki who immigrated from Hungary and was the youngest of seven children. He was a contractor and bricklayer for most of his life and later moved his family to Florida in 1971, where he eventually retired as a construction waterproofer. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and then in later years loved golfing and gardening. Rudy served in the Army with the Paratroopers Special Operations #192 and had also done prize fighting in his teenage years. He was a very kind and gentle man who was known by many for his ability to make what was fondly referred to as "The Big Eyes" at children and make them cry and adults who would know he was joking. He was a member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where he attended regularly. He is survived by his wife of 26 years Marie, a daughter Elizabeth and son Eric, his brother Bud of Berwick, PA and two sisters, Louise of St. Petersburg, FL and Rose of Berwick, PA. He was preceeded in death by his son Rudolph, Jr. The family will be doing a Rememberance on Wednesday, March 27 from 1-3 pm at Collison Family Funeral Home in Winter Park, FL, there will be a funeral Mass scheduled, and he will eventually be interred in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, FL with his wife Mattie who preceeded him in death 30 years ago.
