Agnes B. (Chiki) Federici
Accomplished seamstress and gardener
Agnes B. (Chiki) Federici, 91, Mocanaqua, went home to meet our Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at the Berwick Hospital Center. Agnes was born in Berwick, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Kovach) Chiki.
Agnes will be remembered especially for her wonderful gardening skills. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed needle work.
Agnes first worked at the former Country Cousins Shoe Factory, Mocanaqua, and then was employed at the former Luzerne Outerwear, Shickshinny, until she retired.
She was a member of St. Mary's Church/Holy Spirit Parish, Mocanaqua, and enjoyed making pierogie with the ladies from the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aldo Federici, who died May 18, 1969; her sister, Theresa; and by her first grandchild, Karen, in 2009.
Surviving are three daughters: Maryann (Federici) Chesney and husband, Anthony; Janet (Federici) Obitz; and Elaine (Federici) Voytkowski and husband, Joe. She was the much loved "Noni" to six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Louise, Mary and Rose; and two brothers, Charles and Rudy.
Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at 9:30 a.m. at the Mayo Funeral Home Inc., 77 N. Main St., Shickshinny, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Mocanaqua. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Mocanaqua. Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
