Winnie Marie Estes Jones , daughter of Mannie Evans Estes and Selma Frances Shumpert Estes , was born April 16, 1916 in Lee County , Mississippi . Marie's paternal grandparents were Elisha Evans Estes and Sarah Caroline McCarty Estes , and her maternal grandparents were John Houston Shumpert and Rothsura Dora McKinney Shumpert . She was the oldest of nine siblings . She married Huey Aaron Jones on June 24 , 1933 and they had five children . For many years she lived and worked in Okolona , Mississippi being employed by Futorian Furniture Company. During her retirement years Marie and her husband moved to the Casey Creek Community of Prentiss county . When her health failed , she moved to different nursing homes until her death September 23 , 2006 in Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center . Her husband Huey Aaron Jones , brother Leonard Estes , and grandson Gregory Jones preceded her in death . Her survivors were her children : Ralph Allen Jones , Mary Bea Jones Johnson (Jack ) , Newell E. Jones , Michael Aaron Jones , and Frances Elizabeth Williams (Wayne ) ; her brothers : Ernest Estes , Mannie Estes , and John Thomas Estes ; her sisters : Ollie Mae Ruth , Ellen Stroupe , Foy Basden , and Lucille Allen ; and eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren .
