Golda F. Dutro, 51, of Route 5, a professional artist, died at 7 a.m. April 9 at the Robert Long hospital in Indianapolis after an 8-month illness.
Mrs. Dutro was born Oct. 11, 1923. in Brown county to Marion and Rhoda Carter Pittman. On Oct. 12, 1940. she became the wife of Leonard D. (Jack) Dutro, who survives.
Mrs. Dutro worked as a licensed practical nurse at Bartholomew County hospital and did private nursing for several years. From 1969 to 1972 she owned and operated the Dutro Art studio at 16th and Union and since that time has been involved in private painting.
She lived her early life in Brown county and resided in Columbus most of her life. She was a member of the Columbus Arts Guild and the Indiana Artist Guild.
Also surviving are two sons, Jackie G. Dutro of Route 5 and Danny Dutro of 809 Wilson; a daughter, Tyra Dutro, at home; two sisters, Mae Mitchner of 217 North Gladstone and Beulah Payne of Elizabethtown; and a half sister. Edith Boyd of Streiter, Ill. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Kay, and a brother, Eugene Pittman.
