HOPE -- Frances Mae Pittman Mitchner Williams, 85, of Columbus died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

She worked at CP Electronics for 20 years and as a Reliance and Stanley dealer.

She was a member of the Columbus Senior Center where she played in the kitchen band. She raised goats and was a member of and helped start the W.F.O. Knitting Club.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Shaw officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Burial will be at Daughtery Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Williams was born on Oct. 9, 1919, in Brown County, the daughter of Francis Marion and Rhoda V. Carter Pittman. She married Ernest Williams on Dec. 26, 1975.

Survivors include daughters, Bettie D. West of Hope and Peggy J. George of Westport; sisters, Beulah D. Payne of Elizabethtown and Edith Boyd of Illinois; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993; a son, Gary L. Mitchner; a sister, Goldie F. Dutro; a brother, Claude E. Pittman; a granddaughter, Brenda Smith; and one great-great-grandchild.
